Dear Heather, Thank you for your LDS post. I was hoping that someone with personal experience would fill us all in. Isn't it something that the unknown is often assumed to be negative? I think that the Amish often take a similar rap for similar reasons. Probably Hassidic Jews, Moslems, Jehovah's Witnesses, and other religious minorities are also potential victims of misunderstandings. I think that Roman Catholic priests and nuns are sometimes suspected of being "weird." And Protestants who are Evangelical, Pentecostal, or Born Again also catch some flack on occasion. Now, I myself am an Episcopalian (To Jack, Maureen, Anne, and other Empire citizens: U.S. branch of the Church of England ) so I am probably prone toward apathy more than anything else. Bonny Nothern, IBCLC who is being very "tongue-in-cheek" about the Episcopalians but is still very sorry about the misunderstandings about LDS members.
