I've used this outline the last couple of years for an inservice/presentation
for family practice residents:

Lactation Initiation, Evaluation and Primary Management

Pretest

        Survey Tool

Benefits / Advantages

Reasons to breastfeed and support breastfeeding
        Cost of not Breastfeeding

Family Practice Client Preparation for Breastfeeding

"Obtaining Breastfeeding Education and Support" and study guide

HealthCare Facility Support

        Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding

Postpartum Client Follow-up and Support

Phone and Office Evaluation Tool and study guide
        Challenges and Problem Solving
        Community Resources

For OBs the main issues would be the same as family practice docs and include
helping their prenatal patients prep and plan for success, in-hospital and
postpartum support, basic problem solving, and resources/referral. Those
issues are covered in the above outline, so it could be used with only slight
alterations for an initial inservice to cover the basics. Residents eagerly
soak this stuff up and appear enthusiastic and empowered as a result. OBs are
somewhat more ...... challenging, but I think that is fun too.

Good Luck!
