Lisa, I am in the middle of reading a very interesting book---Your Child's Growing Mind by Jane M. Healy, PH.D. She discusses the growth of the brain throughout---how this relates to behavior, learning, etc. Not once is breastmilk mentioned for optimum brain growth, but I have learned to overlook this. :) Any way, she states in her book, "...There is little myelin present at birth, and it takes twenty or thirty years to finish the process, moving from lower structures and those responsible for motor programs (e.g., reaching, walking) to the highest centers for academic skills, abstract thought, and wise decision making." If it were me, I would try the breastmilk. Aloha, Gloria Thai LLLLeader Hawai'i
