It is.  However, I do know a tandem nursing mother who temporarily weaned a
three year old with an oral lesion to prevent infecting her breast and her
newborn daughter.  The boy was old enough to understand why he couldn't
nurse, and did resume nursing when the lesion scabbed over, but it was a hard
week, nonetheless.
