A Leader posted this to TLC. She gave me permission to post it here for you to read and respond. Is anyone familiar with these "seven studies"?: Ruth Scuderi Westfield, MA ------ My mom picks up this cheap woman's magazine, Woman's World. I was reading through it when I found an article titled <Safeguard your baby from SIDS> One of the suggestions was <Having your baby sleep in her crib> Regardless of what room they are in, babies should sleep alone in their own cribs on a firm mattress. At least seven studies have shown that sleeping with their parents increases the risk of SIDS, possibly because it heightens the risk of rebreathing. AAAAAAAuuuuuuuggggghhhhhh!! I can't believe this. I would like to see the seven studies that were done. I haven't written yet because I want to include the studies that show co-sleeping prevents SIDS, and also breastfeeding which was never mentioned.
