We all unfortunately hear this all too often... much of the problem stems
from health care professionals who do not keep current with research... a
reason why it is imperative that we do so.

When I work with a family I ask them when they sit down to eat who
finished first ( ususally one of the other does) I then ask if I can take the
plate from the person not finished... the answer is overwhelingly NO... well
as these two adults eat at different paces, does it make sense to "time" an
infant? We often come to the consensus that the child eats like one or other
of the parents, have a good laugh about it especially if the fast eating
parent is the mom and the baby easts slowly like dad!
