My thought about the five month old eating a croissant being ready for solids
hinged on the description of the child *crawling* across the floor. No
floppy-headed baby who can't sit up is crawling, that I have ever seen :)
My precocious son sat early, had no tongue thrust, grabbed for food, had
several teeth, and loved his early solids - just shortly after turning four
months old. Never used a high chair. Young, I know, but he had other ideas.
BTW he walked at 8 months and out-eats his three year old sister every day of
the week.
