I'm doing my darnedest to track down that elusive reference regarding the idea that mothers at the tail end of lactation are *not* at an advantage for inducing lactation for a new adopted baby, and in fact might even be at a disadvantage. The time period should have been 1989 or 1990 (my former co-leader's daughter was born 9/87 and was a nursing toddler at the time of our discussion), and I have checked all of my back issues of New Beginnings and Leaven, with the exception of one missing issue. However, I am beginning to think that maybe the information was contained in our area letter, "League Spirit", because the indices for NB & L don't list any adoption articles that I haven't already checked out. Does anyone have or know of someone who has back issues of League Spirit? Maybe someone could post this request to LLL online, since I am not subscribed there. This question has been bothering me for some time now, and others have also expressed interest in tracking down the article where I first read the suggested info. Any help is appreciated!
