Ground hornets on the other hand are nasty mean. When I was a young man we put up prairie hay in Kansas using horses. I can vouch for the fact that bumble bees take a dim view to having their nests destroyed and can sting horses and people. It seemed to me that they really packed a wallop. Been Bumble Bee Stung Vic
