Hi all, thank you to Diane and Maureen for info on my client who wishes to
induce lactation while taking Logynon (MY thoughts exactly Maureen - thank
you for putting it so succinctly!). Client just returned hand pump because
she is finding manual expression more effective, noticed "glisten" of milk
the day after commencing breast stimulation and reports obtaining 3 - 4
drops of milk 4 - 5 times per day now so will increase expressing episodes
and feeling very enthusiastic. Brief follow-up with gynaecologist who
thinks Logynon is still necessary for her. Please - does anyone have some
info on what levels of estrogen are produced by an exclusively breastfeeding
mother in the first few weeks post-partum - any at all? none? And/or if
abrupt withdrawal of Logynon for a short time (what length of time?) would
produce menopausal symptoms/lead to increased breastmilk production?
Thanks for any thoughts you have ...
