Hi all, I have a friend who is breastfeeding her 3 week old son. He is growing well and a very energetic nurser. She complains of pain during MER. She writes << The pain is for the let-down time, seems like forever, but is probably just a few seconds. Let-down is fairly forceful most of the time, and yes, James has problems keeping up, he chokes often. He has to pull away most of the time. This happens probably 90% of the time. >> I have given her the standard advice of giving only one breast per feeding, feed in a reclining position, ways to decrease stimulation of the breast and dealing with resultant possibility of engorgement. But I have never heard anyone say they had actual pain when they let down. Anyone have any insights or other suggestions I can give her?
