Greetings fellow l'netters: I had a coworker call me today with a problem that leaves us both baffled. A mom called her stating that her 2 month old has been refusing to nurse in the cradle or football hold for 1 week now. The only way she claims that baby will nurse is if the baby is flat on his back, and mom leans over him to get him started. She can then slowly slide to a laying down position. History: Dad lost his job the day after baby was born. Mom has been job-hunting the past week, and the baby has had about 5 bottles during the time that she has been gone. Dad remains unemployed - they are living with her parents. Baby was examined today by a physican assistant, and found nothing out of the ordinary. The PA told her to call the lactation consultants. Mom easily pumps 6 oz.+ when she is away. Any feedback on this one? Thanks! Janet Bergeson, RN, IBCLC
