In response to the post about bottled corn syrups (Karo syrup) and
infant botulism.  I have an article from 1991 which details testing done by
the Food and Drug Administration in the US on bottled corn syrups.  C.
botulinum spores were *not* found in any samples.  According to the
article, corn syrup manufacturers had changed their processing
standards to eliminate the botulism spores prior to this study.

Although I do not know *why* someone would want to give their infant
corn syrup, from this article, it does appear to be safe.  Honey is still
unsafe for infants.

If anyone has contradictory articles published after 1991, please let me
know.
