From: Pat Martens IBCLC, MSc(Community Health) PhD student, University of Manitoba re: March 22 digest about green milk The best source for colours of milk and maternal dietary intake is in Ruth Lawrence's text. I am using the latest edition (4th edition). Lawrence RA. Breastfeeding: A guide for the medical profession. Toronto: Mosby, 1994. On page 305-306, there are various descriptions of pink, orange, green and black milk. Regarding green milk, the quote is from page 306: "Several items have been clearly identified. Gatorade (the green beverage), kelp, and other forms of seaweed, especially in tablet form, and natural vitamins from health-food sources each have been associated with one or more cases of green milk and usually green urine". It's always helpful to have a reference. Hope this helps. (ps. it is still WINTER, despite the calendar, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada - a blizzard is in the forecast for this evening! Hope comet Hakutake will brighten up your lives in the coming few days). pat martens
