I know this is only anecdotal evidence, but I know that chocolate flavoured
foods/drinks affected my firstborn. He was a colicky baby already, but for
the first 5 months, I could just about set my watch on his reaction after I
consumed chocolate cake or chocolate drink, etc. I do believe I may be
mildly intolerant to chocolate (I am also a chocoholic, drank lots of
chocolate flavoured milk during pregnancy) and maybe he is too. So I
believe babies can react to chocolate in mum's diet in selected cases, but
certainly not as a general rule in all mothers.
