On Sunday 7 Jan 1996 Donna Zitzelberger wrote re a baby whose oesophageal
atresia was diagnosed 12 hours after birth. All neonatoligists (except
one) cornered Donna and politely explained it would have been discovered
12 hours earlier if she were bottlefeeding.

My question - What advantage would an earlier diagnosis have conveyed?
IMHO this family may have instead benefited by those wonderful hours when
their baby was still "whole", and they were able to wholly love and accept
him/her into their hearts.

Just my .02c.
