I just wanted to add my .02 about the issue of measuring output in the early
days. Just as Judy was saying about her son not peeing because of a blockage
reminds of another newborn condition. That of tight anal opening. One of my
friends twins had this condition. She questioned her ped. why one baby had
pooped, but the other had not by 1 week of age. He manually streched her anus
and she then had no problem pooping. So I agree that just because the output in
the first days isn't what is expected, it doesn't always mean a problem with
lactation.
