I saw the new Medela pump in November at a workshop in Dallas. My local rep hasn't contacted me either. It appears to be pretty nice (IMHO), and an obvious competitor to the Nurture III. Higher priced, I recall, but lots cheaper than other cycling electrics. RE: marketing - all pumps have a potential to interfere with direct BF. This issue isn't unique to this pump, or any particular pump or any particular brand. Easy accesibility to good equipment at a reasonable price is an advantage to many mothers. Misuse and overuse of pumps, which gets in the way of the mother-baby relationship, is a different issue altogether. In a way, there are many parallels to the ABM issue. Anything that substitutes for the baby at breast, if misused, can interefere with babies at breast. The trick is no misuse, and no inappropriate ads. So, what's appropriate marketing? (HA! I'm not going to answer that one. Any takers?) Linda Smith
