One of our LC's got a call from a patient who has been complaining about edema since delivery (I believe). The baby is over a year old, has been weaned completely for two weeks. The patient's doctor told her the edema was caused by bf--and she still has it now. I cannot understand how bf would cause edema. Is there a good physiological explanation or is he just lying it at the feet of bf by mistake? Arly [log in to unmask] (Arly Helm, MS, CLE, IBCLC)
