Well here is my .02 worth on these subjects. I remember reading in an old New
Beginnings once about a woman who had breast surgery (implants I think, don't
have it in front of me right now) and one of her nipples had no sensation. When
she nursed the baby on that side she would manually stimulate the other breast
to bring on the let-down. I don't remember how old the baby was at the time she
wrote the story, but she seemed to be having no problems. So this mom should
have no problems nursing from both breasts.

As for the vegetarian mom I remember that one mom in our LLL group had a problem
with gas producing foods giving her baby a lot of gas. She told us that when
she went shopping she asked the produce guy if there was anything in season that
didn't produce gas and he recommended Beano. She took it whenever she ate any
gas producing foods and it really helped her baby. She said it was a natural
enyzme and felt it was okay (they weren't having any problems). I did consider
calling the 800 number on the package to ask them their opinion, but like many
other things we busy moms try to do it got pushed aside.

Hope this helps out some.
