Melissa Vickers asked: >Just out of curiousity, where do such groups as Nursing Mothers of >Australia and other lay breastfeeding counselling organizations stand on >the political activism front? Also, do these other groups encompass parenting philosophy as well? It's interesting that you should ask this, because as I have been reading all these posts about LLL, you could have almost always replaced "LLL" with "NMAA" within the text, the organisations are *so* much alike. So ditto to LLL re NMAA. I find it a strange situation here in Western Australia, where NMAA is so big (about 124 Breastfeeding Counsellors state-wide) and LLL is so small, with only 2 Leaders. We are all here for the same thing *exactly*, yet there is still this feeling of "us and them", and very little communication between the two. :-( Joy Anderson IBCLC, NMAA Breastfeeding Counsellor (over 8 years) Perth, Western Australia P.S.
