I have often heard that because breastmilk's flavor changes with the
mom's diet, that breastfed kids are more accepting of a wide variety of
solids (at whatever age they begin eating them). Does anyone know of
any *research studies* to support this claim?

The following study found this result:
Sullivan SA & Birch LL 1994 "Infant dietary experience and acceptance of
solid foods" Pediatrics 93(2): 271-277

Another article said that breastfed infants liked the taste of garlic in
their mothers' milk, so tastes obviously get through - Mennella JA &
Beauchamp GK "Maternal Diet Alters the Sensory Qualities of Human Milk and
the Nursling's Behaviour" Pediatrics 88(4): 737-744 (1991)
