With reference to the question of whether formula or cow's would be more suitable for an eight month old, I just wanted to point out that one reason that most formulas are hazardous is that they are MADE from cow's milk. We frequently hear that we should delay the addition of cow's milk to a child's diet, but somehow forget that formulas are made from a substance which is a perfect first food - for a calf. (Unfortunately by the time it hits the supermarket shelf it has even lost many of the special properties which make it such an important food for bovine babies.)
