Re: Monica's post on dry eyes. There is a connection between dry eyes and breastfeeding which is referenced in the lit. I don't have a copy in front of me but will get it when I go to my office. I remember because I wrote an abstract for it for Breastfeeding Abstracts a few yrs ago. Researchers discovered an affect of hormones of preg. and bfg which affected corneal curve. The same thing occurs again to some women during menopause. Lisa (I think) posted a response to this question remarking about how her contacts bothered her during this time. The advice the clinicians gave was to avoid fitting women for contacts during this time, and to delay prescribing for new glasses. The sit. is usually temporary. This mother certainly has the double whammy because of the other med. problems. I imagine she is uncomfortable. Her docs aren't uninformed, but perhaps if she knows the worsened status of her cond. is prob. temp. she can hang on to her bfg. until the hormones moderate.
