Hello All, I have been lurking about for about 2 weeks and enjoying every minute of this. It is so exciting to be part of such a large group of fellow "zealots." Even though I have posted a couple of comments, I never formally introduced myself which seems to be the protocol. I am foremost the mother of three children. Sadly, two have grown up and left home, (TIME FLEW) but I am still enjoying my 14 year old son. I nursed them for a total of 10 consecutive years. I am a retired LLL Leader, an IBCLC since 1985, and the author of a little breastfeeding book, WHY SHOULD I NURSE MY BABY?. I live on a peanut farm in rural Virginia and spend my time selling said books (in bulk to hospitals and WIC programs) and helping moms on a volunteer basis. My best friend is a peer counselor for WIC and I try to help her all I can. Until I moved to Va., I was a WIC LC in a Florida hospital and loved working with that clientele. I feel very isolated now in a community of people (sadly, health professionals, too) who think ABM is just as good as breast milk. Looking forward to many good times on LACTNET. I love receiving E MAIL!! Pam Wiggins, 30149 Smiths Ferry Rd. Franklin VA 23851 (804) 562-2223 PS. The only thing that bothers me here are the MYSTERY WORDS. For instance, what is P---------??? on a recent post. It will probably come to me any minute and I will feel really stupid but right now all I can think of is pacifier?! Is that a breastfeeding tool? And why can't we mention brand names?
