The epinephrine pen delivers Epinephrine, an adrenalin - NOT benadryl, an
antihistamine. It should ONLY be used in life threatening situations, and
should be injected into the thigh (outer side), avoiding any veins. If
you get this stuff in your veins, it can cause cerebral hemmorage. Use of
it should always be followed by prompt emergency medical care as well,
since it can race the heart into a cardiac arrest. Hardly safe for a
child to use! This is all according to the literature that came with mine.
