john calis recently wrote about using drone trapping combs and getting rid of
up to 95% of the mites as a result.
 
i wonder if anyone has thought of or considered using a drone trap combined with
an apistan strip, albeit a small one, to de-mite the drones in the trap without
affecting the honey or the rest of the colony?  it seems somehow feasible to
construct a drone trap with a miticide external to the colony where the drones
as they pass thru it get a brush of the strip, but the returning workers
bypass it entirely.
