To all of you US people who will be attending ILCA, Please plan to attend the US meeting on Friday at 5:30. The meeting will adjourn in plenty of time to attend the PERFECT 36 at 8 PM. Minda Lazarov will update us on BFHI in the US, Paula Donovan from UNICEF will give an update of the Global BFHI, the Deanna Sollid Award will be presented, two-way communication between ILCA and the members will be discussed and there will be networking by regions. It is important for as many to attend this meeting as possible. It is extremely important that all affiliate officers or their appointed representatives attend this meeting. Please pass the word. This is from a mailing I received last week from Mary Grace Lanese, US Delegate. OOOhhhh The excitement of it all!! Less than one week. I can't wait!! Hope to see many of you there! Becky--I hope you bring your baby with you. My post about OLCA was to make the point that no one has a problem with babies per se, but when they become loud enough to disturb others, they need to leave the room. The problems our affiliate had were when older babies would walk up to speakers and pat their legs (not very professional when you have asked a physician to give up a Sat. afternoon to do a professional level presentation for IBLCE CERPs and Nursing Association Credits) or when an older baby keeps saying "mama?" louder than the speaker and the mother brings loud toys to play with. ILCA members love babies; however, all expect to attend meetings that are conducive to learning, so a reasonably quiet environment is expected. Mothers usually sit near an exit to attend to their baby's needs outside the room if the baby gets loud. Bye for now, Queen Mighty Flighty
