My understanding is second hand, but I recall seeing dramatic decreases
discussed in the literature as a result of the several years of no-lead
gasoline.  The point of one article that proposed to do a budget of Pb,
searching all reservoirs in soil, organisms, runoff, etc., was that most of
the lead that should have been there was missing.  Perhaps someone else has
some literature citations.
