Hello John:

I too have some reservation about the mite-resistant bees, especially the
Tabor bees. I read the account of the development of this strain in the
American Bee Journal, i've forgotten just when but must have been three or
four years ago. The approach was to infect a few colonies with mites and
when some survived, these were classed mite residtant.

As I remember only a couple survived and queens mothers from these
colonies then produced mite-resistant stock. I hope the claim is true and
indeed it may be, but, my confinence level in this short-term approach is
low.

Seem to be having some trouble with our local Internet contact so best cut
it off.

Hope you get other response to your posting.
