A beekeeper's group on Usenet would be helpful for all beekeepers.
Some do not have access to listserve subscriptions, and Usenet is readily
available. Usenet is more interactive than listserve, and caters to consensus
responses. Beekeeping questions typically have multiple answers and Usenet
seems a perfect forum for the exchange of this necessary information.
The news group will get some noise as in all the internet, but so what.
If you don't like it, don't read it right? Also the group need not be gated
to the listserve, keeping them individual entities.
However, making a news group takes some work. Will it be an alt. group
or a sci. group. or what? Some groups take longer to make and are more difficult to make. Who will set up the group and do the ground work?
The group needs a FAQ. What are some FAQs that would be good to start the group out with?
A few things to think about!
