POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT A full-time appointment as Visiting Research Specialist in Life Sciences is available for one year in the Department of Entomology at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, beginning as soon as possible after the closing date. The continuation of this position is dependent on grant funds. The successful candidate will participate in a project studying the mechanisms of hormone effects on honey bee behavior. Major responsibilities will include the use of autoradiography to study the anatomical distribution of hormone receptors in the bee brain, computer-assisted image analysis of autoradiograms, and preparation of figures and photomicrographs for publication. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field and prior experience in laboratory research. Experience in any of the following would be desirable (but training will be provided): microscopy, histology, autoradiography, use of PC or Macintosh. Possibilities also exist to combine field studies at the Bee Research Facility with lab duties. Salary will be commensurate with training and experience.
