Pete, this is a very important finding.  I recommend to all to go to the
Supplemental Material link and view the videos of the cells moving to the
wound.
Varroa apparently figured this out long ago, and uses the cell's behavior
to its own advantage--once the foundress creates the feeding wound, the fat
body cells will continue to replenish themselves for sustained feeding from
the same wound!

This is a major finding!
