we are part of a collaborative working towards goal of becoming Baby Friendly. we collect data based on a list of parameters such as skin to skin, patient education, exclusive breastfeeding, rooming in,mom's with nicu infants who are hand expressing and or pumping, pacifier use, formula use, breastfeeding initiation, etc.we look at a monthly sample based on our deluvery rate and do patient interviews on the day of discharge. Some of the parameters are viewed by race as we want to see how we are doing with our diverse population. It has been fascinating to see the ups and downs of data! Our markers are obsolete so any input would be appreciated. Currently we collect percentage of BF moms, what % was 100% exclusive, % medical supplementation and % of non-medical supplementation, how many are still BF at 1 week f/u phone call. Another challenge we're having is our f/u phone calls- only about half even answer our calls. Suggestions? ________________________________ PRMC CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: This message, including any attachments is for the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain confidential and privileged information.
