<><><>  I, too, used food coloring to tag the syrup supplement that I give to my bees.  I do this in an effort to ensure that I am not contaminating my honey product with sugar syrup.   A side note to this is that one late spring, when going through my hives, I found one of my stronger hives had numerous frames of color tinted honey.  They had been robbing one/some of my weaker colonies which I had been feeding.  Anyway, any time that I find colored cells of honey, food coloring tinted, I refrain from extracting that frame of honey.
