Aaron, we live in a country in which the reality of nearly everything is "borderline absurd"--just look at the "news" on social media, the belief that bees are going extinct, the marketing of fear of gluten and GMOs, the irrational fear of "toxins," and the absurdity of our Administration. The point is not about rational discussion of the optimal formulation of bee artificial diets--animal products have been tested in pollen subs for decades. The point is that the bee industry is largely dependent upon the image of honey as a desirable food. The association of chicken blood with honey would taint that image for many people. As an example, it's highly unlikely that you'll ever see processed human cadavers using in dog or cat food. It's not about nutrition--it's about the buyers' irrational ("absurd") rejection of a good protein source. -- Randy Oliver Grass Valley, CA www.ScientificBeekeeping.com *********************************************** The BEE-L mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software.
