Hi Justin & All

Firstly:  I have no experience with gelignite nor jackhammers in  
removing frames from a propolized box containing 10 frames.  Secondly:  
here in Ontario our boxes are made from 7/8" lumber (US boxes from  
3/4") making the inside measurements 1/4" smaller and thus tighter  
still.  Thirdly:  I read here on Bee-L some years ago a quote from  
Keith Delaplane that, for better ventilation, the spaces between the  
frames should be continuous from bottom board to inner cover and I use  
9 frames in my honey supers.
