Question for the group. There is a lot of "robbing" going on right now in Maine and I had some with one hive, the strongest one! I added an entrance reducer and the robbing behavior dropped after a day or so. With the latest research on bees from collapsing colonies found in hives all around their hive, I wonder - is some of the "robbing" actually bees from away being driven back by guard bees? I know there are beekeepers in the area who do not treat and regularly lose colonies about this time.Another reason for my soon to be OAV treatment. As an aside. At a recent chapter meeting a beekeeper brought a sticky board forward and I saw it at a distance and wondered why he made up a black sticky board. You guessed it. It was black with mites. Came from a MAQS drop. Bill Truesdell Bath, Maine *********************************************** The BEE-L mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software.
