Why is OA not as persistent as it should be?

It dawned on me that most of us buy OA as *wood bleach*. It may just be
doing its thing in the hive confines since about every surface not covered
with wax is wood and the OA is just bleaching away, literally. Hence it has
a short life in contact with wood and moisture, which is abundant supply
inside the hive.

So I wonder if the success some have with fewer treatments is plastic
instead of wood frames? The OA would last much longer in that environment.
It is intriguing.

You can tell it has been raining for a bit and I am stuck inside 🙂
