I have to respectfully disagree with a couple of recent posters on this issue. I found the Molly Remer article I mentioned before, and Molly herself cites a presentation by Diana West at a LLL conference a few years ago. It's actually a blog post, and the comments are useful anecdotally. My takeaway when I first read it is like many other things moms ask me about: Different moms are affected by different things, and this is one diet change that a number of moms report affects milk supply. It may or may not happen to you, but it's something to keep in mind and just pay attention to any changes you note so that you can continue to make an informed decision. I tend to put up a cautionary flag if moms are removing entire food groups from the diet, unless that group is junk/processed food. http://talkbirth.me/2012/04/23/case-study-low-carb-diets-and-breastfeeding-mothers/ Lynn Carter OFS IBCLC Missouri, USA *********************************************** Archives: http://community.lsoft.com/archives/LACTNET.html To reach list owners: [log in to unmask] Mail all list management commands to: [log in to unmask] COMMANDS: 1.
