We sampled 30 canola fields near Lethbridge a few years ago. These fields were sampled at the beginning, middle, and end of bloom periods. We found only low levels of clothianidin, mostly just above detection limits of the GC/MS in bee-collected pollen, and even lower levels for bee-collected nectar. Unlike corn areas, we did find that bees liked canola as evidenced by high percentages of canola pollen in many of the samples - still, the bees also foraged other plants. Colin Henderson presented this data at ABF in Hershey.
