One does not need to weigh the bees directly.  If one weighs the entire
hive, bees and all first thing in the morning before they start flying, one
can then shake the bees out into or onto anything (or another hive) and
then weigh the hive without the bees.  The difference will be the weight of
the bees.  Would be nice to answer this question this summer.  If someone
is willing to do so, I'll do ditto here.
