Dear wise ones, I am about to counsel a mother who conceived her first using Clomid and, because of her history, is quite certain she will need to use Clomid again now that she wishes to conceive a second time. Because of her age she does not want to delay the conception efforts. Her fertility specialist says she must go 2 months without breastfeeding before they will start Clomid. She has now almost fully weaned her 12-month-old but one last feeding remains. Can anyone shed light for me on the fertility doctor's reasoning - and whether this mother has any hope of conceiving without dropping the last feeding? Is it possible for instance that her hormone levels may have changed enough from mostly weaning, that going two months while maintaining one feeding would allow her to use Clomid effectively? Thank you all. April -- "There isn't anyone you couldn't love once you've heard their story." - Mary Lou Kownacki April Rosenblum, IBCLC Give them the gift of worry-free breastfeeding!
