Arkansas Archeological Survey Position Announcement Job Title: Research Assistant (Liaison to the Arkansas Archeological Society) Arkansas Archeological Survey Job Location: Fayetteville, AR Start Date: July 1, 2013 or possibly sooner. Closing Date: April 30, 2013 Annual Salary: $25,500 or Commensurate to education and experience Job Description: This is a full-time 12 month position with paid vacation and fringe benefits. Under the supervision of the Arkansas State Archeologist, the individual will act as the Arkansas Archeological Survey's liaison to the Arkansas Archeological Society and provide assistance with the Arkansas Archeological Survey's education programs. Duties: maintain membership information for Society; address and mail Society publications; maintain records of Society's certification program; keep track of Society inventory of field equipment, t-shirts, and other materials; attends the annual Arkansas Archeological Society Training Program; maintain registration for the Training Program; attend Executive Board Meetings of the Arkansas Archeological Society; help organize and attends the Annual Meeting of the Arkansas Archeological Society; help organize educational programs of the Society and the Survey; act as relief receptionist at the Survey's Coordinating Office. Qualifications: BA degree and archeological field and laboratory experience. Evidence of successful office management. Individual must be able to spend three weeks out-of-town in June at the Society's Training Program; Individual must be able to attend Executive Board meetings four Saturdays a year. Individual must be able to attend the Society's annual meeting during a weekend in late September. Individual must have valid Arkansas driver's license. Travel expenses will be paid for by the Arkansas Archeological Survey.
