Here's a great set of videos by Professor E. Laithwaite made back in the 60's and 70's.  One of the TI alumni, Zeke Kossover pointed it out in response to a query.  They're all totally cool videos.  Oddly enough, Audrey Mattlock, first woman in the machine shop, worked on a model of the MagLev train, a version of which is imaged in one of the film clips,  Magnetic River.

Laithwaite himself reminds me of a younger Frank Oppenheimer in spirit and intent.  It's the video about nine figures down that prompted the initial discussion.  

Oh! So British.
