> > >Should we really trust our regulatory agencies to regulate? I think that you missed my point Juanse. I was saying that there is no reason to think that we should necessarily trust the manufacturers to regulate themselves. So since we can't individually regulate them, then we must put our faith into our appointed regulators to do so. Therefore, we should focus our attention upon whether the regulators are doing their jobs, so that we can indeed continue to trust them. So my point is, what facts specifically makes anyone feel that the regulators have earned our distrust? I've spoken with the regulators, and thoroughly reviewed their paperwork. My impression is that in an imperfect world, they are doing a fairly good job. They are aware of all the potential problems with the neonics, and reviewing each new piece of evidence as it comes in. If indeed evidence is found to support our concerns, EPA acts definitively to change the label or to revoke registration of a product completely. The public forum is like a kangaroo court; EPA must follow legal, evidence-based procedures. -- Randy Oliver Grass Valley, CA www.ScientificBeekeeping.com *********************************************** The BEE-L mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software.
