Was the post about Apis cerana honey and EU bee farmers meant to be a joke? I wasn't sure.
Is Apis cerana honey exported anywhere? It is a small bee producing small nests and little honey.
In any case, “EU bee farmers” have little influence when EU legislation is drawn up.
Bee keepers in Europe sometimes have influence with their own governments. In France we have recently seen a lot of lobbying against MON 810 because, if it is banned we will no longer have to worry about GM pollen.
This, PLB, was what I meant when I said, “Happily, it appears certain that maize MON 810 will be banned this year in France.” I have no argument with GMOs per se although I fail to see what most contribute, other than a substantial profit for the companies that market them.
