Bumblebee Decline

The key point with the studies on pollinator decline is the loss of diversity. A world where we relied on one or two pollinators would be as perilous as one in which we relied on one or two crops.

The fact that a few species of bees disappear while others thrive may mean nothing to farmers or gardeners, but to those interested in the preservation of the natural diversity of a region, or the planet as a whole, it is cause for concern.

The difference between educated folks and the rest of the mass media fed world, is that we care about small stuff. Because, you never know how important a little piece of a system is until it's gone and the system fails.
