You will find quite a bit in the archives on MCAD. I know, because I had to look it all up about three months ago :) Babies with MCAD really and truly do need supplementation of some kind until mom's milk comes in. Colostrum just isn't enough. Of course, the ideal would be expressed breastmilk! They can *definitely* nurse, and from what I read, the smaller more frequent feeds they get breastfeeding are even more helpful and important to them than to a healthy baby who could compensate for formula feeds.
