Hi all, We are removing bees from a house using the screen wire funnel method. We are doing this in Cullman, Alabama. We have removed 1 brood chamber full of bees and a raised queen, doing well. We placed another brood chamber with a frame of eggs, and all ages of brood and clinging bees and raised a new queen. Two weeks or so ago, she was laying and looking good. Yesterday, Aug. 8, I checked to see about when we could complete the operation. I looked in the hive to find a half dozen or so bees, no queen, one frame with a lot of capped brood, honey and pollen. Two or so weeks ago, the hive was well populated, and I thought, doing fine. No dead bees around and the hive is on a roof, so no one has poisoned or anything. What has happened? Opinions?
